Create a Processing Step Record

Purpose

A processing step is used to define how select materials should be processed by specifying conditions. This guide outlines how to create a new Processing Step record. For more information regarding Processing Step records, see our ELN + LIMS User Manual.

Note: Only users with the appropriate privileges can create a Processing Step record. Contact your system administrator for more information.

Instructions

1. Click the + New  button in the blue system navigation panel and select Processing Step from the list.

2. A Processing Step record displays in a pop-up window. 

3. Enter a unique Processing Name in the field and add a description.

4. Select one or more Conditions from the dropdown to be connected to the Processing Step each time it’s used in a Lab Book’s Trial.

5. For each Condition added, users can optionally define a default value and unit to be provided when the processing step is used. 

Note: Units can only be defined if the Condition is a Numerical value type and has a unit type.
